We Will Be Again Who Has Been

Borrowing from the series 1960s Germany – approaches for an uncomfortable identity at the Berliner Schaubühne – Turbo Pascal stages a diffuse ceremonial act concerning the question: Who will be who has been? Is the so-called successful democracy of the Federal Republic a reason to celebrate? And when ´yes´, how have we learnt national and individual democracy? In a stage setting with long tables at which also the audience sits, participants practise reading and writing with votes and contributions and for future use. Turbo Pascal tests itself and its fellow citizens on democracy and sustainability. The minimalist music of Friedrich Greiling (in which he attempts “to reach the right sense with few means and cheap tricks“) encounters the discursive theatre of Turbo Pascal.
